Double Peak Letter

My daughter and I just returned from a geocache hike to the site of the old "burnt house." This is the double peak that you can see from all of San Marcos. We got to the top and discovered that the historical homestead had been turned into rubble. In talking to a few friends we discovered that, gulp, golf course might take the place of this ridge. Will the complete ridge be destroyed or just the part by the repeater towers on Cerro de Las Posas and the rest of San Elijo Hells? I would be ashamed to explain to my daughter that a developer's thirst for profits could destroy something so beautiful and our elected officials could do nothing to prevent it. What trade-offs could possible mitigate the loss of this pristine mountain top?
